DHL Global Forwarding required a new headquarters in Lahore that met the company's international brand standards while being delivered on a Pakistan timeline. The brief called for a workspace that communicated professionalism, efficiency, and global standards to staff and visiting clients.

CFJ Architects handled architecture, interior design, and construction under a single contract. Every material specification, detail, and finish was carried through from drawings to the built outcome without a handoff to a separate contractor.

CFJ Architects is a Lahore-based practice that designs and builds. Architecture, interior design, and construction — not as separate services handed between separate firms, but as one integrated process delivered by one team.

“The gap between what is designed and what gets built is where quality disappears. We close that gap by doing both.”

I founded CFJ Architects on a specific observation. Every time a building is handed from an architect to a contractor, something is lost in the transfer — the precision of the detail, the intent behind a material choice, the spatial logic that made the design work on paper. By the time the building is complete, it is usually an approximation of what was designed.

The response was not better communication between separate firms. The response was to remove the handoff entirely. The same team that develops your design is the team that builds it. The same person who drew the detail is present when it is installed.

Three degrees across architecture, construction management, and urban planning were not accidental. Buildings are designed objects, constructed systems, and urban elements simultaneously. Understanding all three changes how a project is approached from the first sketch.

How we work.

Design decisions are made at director level — not delegated to junior staff or outsourced to contractors. Every project has senior oversight from first brief to final handover.

01 — Brief & feasibility
Understanding what you actually need.

A detailed briefing session covers your requirements, site, budget, and timeline. We provide an honest feasibility assessment before any design work begins. No design proceeds without a shared understanding of what is achievable.

02 — Design development
Concept through resolved design.

Every design decision is documented and presented for your approval before moving forward. You are involved at every stage that matters. Nothing is finalised without your sign-off.

03 — Construction documentation
Drawings that can actually be built.

Full working drawings, specifications, and schedules. Everything required to build the design exactly as intended — with no room for contractor interpretation or substitution.

04 — Construction & handover
The design you approved is the building you receive.

On-site supervision by the design team throughout construction. Regular documented updates. Final handover with full as-built documentation. The same team that drew it is present when it is built.

01 — Remote consultation

We begin with a video call in your time zone. You share your requirements, plot details, and references. We provide an honest feasibility assessment before any design work begins.

02 — Design with your approval

Every design decision is presented for your review. 3D visuals, material boards, and drawings shared digitally. Nothing is finalised without your sign-off.

03 — Construction with weekly updates

Every week you receive a written progress report with site photographs. At each major milestone, a video walkthrough. You see your project as it is built — not after.

04 — Handover & documentation

Final walkthrough on video or in person. Complete as-built drawings, material records, and warranty documentation. The building you approved is the building you receive.
